He has appeared as Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock), the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He received the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, aged of 27. In 1995, he received admission to the National Theatre School of Denmark. In addition to his appearance in The Killing, [1] was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was highly regarded. He also played a lead role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he was the role of President Russia. In the year 2018, he took home an International Emmy Award for his performance in the lead character on the Danish television drama Herrensveje. The show aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019.
