Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the only superstar to have moved from the country to mainstream and become a pop icon worldwide. Swift left her heritage in the country genre like a second skin, and revealed that she had the best pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only artist/singer who could be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it on the road. Swift's early songs, including her neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. However, her album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was beginning to discover herself, and gaining a huge following. Fearless went on to become a global hit and not just in North America (where it was certified as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia, the U.K. and other countries. Speak Now delivered almost two years later consolidated that success and moved Swift to the heights of superstardom. The three albums following the three albums that followed -- Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 along with Reputation 2017. Swift's popularity only increased. That was an obvious indicator that Swift had entered an entirely new world of pop that she could be part of. She stayed in the forefront of pop even after she changed her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
